After graduating from the University of Florida in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry, Dr. Aaron L. Washington, II completed his PhD in Inorganic Chemistry with specialization in material science in February of 2009. In April 2009, Dr. Washington joined the Savannah River National Lab (SRNL) and is currently a principal scientist and project manager of a several multi-million-dollar project. Dr. Washington has more than 25+ published manuscripts and more than 15 presentations at national conferences and meetings. Dr. Washington also has 9 patents issued and 3 additional patents currently in process. Dr. Washington is an active Project Management Professional (PMP) and has maintained the certification since 2015. Dr. Washington is also a recent graduate of Brown’s prestigious EMSTL program and one of their graduate student speakers in 2021.
In entrepreneurship, Dr. Washington has owned three businesses. The first being Aaron Wash Labs, a consulting firm servicing the materials and technology industries. Secondly, he started a website business called The Catalyst choice. This business was focused on providing personalized service in helping people select the right product (electronics, cars, appliances) without spending and effort sorting through websites/stores. Dr. Washington and his wife Maria Washington are currently running his third and most successful business, Tutor Doctor of Evans. Tutor Doctor is a tutoring service focused on providing one-on-one tutoring for all ages, grades, and subjects. We are one of 700 franchises in 16 different countries. Our franchise started in Jan 2022 and has been nominated for Rookie Franchise of the Year. After one year of business, our franchise has already shown over 200% growth and we have exceeded our total sales of 2022 in the first quarter of 2023.
In community service, Dr. Washington serves on a non-profit board of the organization called Successteam Foundation for Youth Development. Dr. Washington is also the father of 5 children namely Aaron III, Demetrium, Marilynn, Nylah, and Nicole.
